Description:

This laboratory allows the analysis of gases through gas chromatographic techniques. Two integrated GC and microGC systems are currently in operation. The following species can be determined with the present configuration: He, H2, O2, N2, H2S, CO, CO2, CH4 and C2 and C3 alkanes.

Agilent 7890B + SRA microGC integrated module

Equipment description:

Agilent 7890 gas chromatographs equipped with a micro additional gas chromatographic module. The microGC module uses He as gas carrier and is equipped with a PPU capillary column which separates the main components (CH4, CO2, C2H6, C3H8, H2S, SO2), and a micro TCD detector. The Agilent 7890 gas chromatograph uses Ar as carrier is equipped with MolSieve 5A column and a TCD detector system (which detects He, H2, O2, N2, CH4) + Methanizer + FID (which detects CH4 e CO)

Equipment measurements:

The instruments determines the concentrations of the following gaseous species: He, H2, O2, N2, CH4, CO, CO2, C2H6, C3H8, H2S, SO2. Determination of dissolved gases can be made on head space samples. Gas concentrations can also be determined on enriched samples in soda filled Giggenbach bottles.
